Thermowood

Heat treatment changes the cellular structure of wood and the structure of the material, so its dimensions do not change under the influence of temperature fluctuations and humidity of the external environment. For heat-treated wood, radial and tangential deering is significantly reduced. Thermowood absorbs moisture very minimally, about 6 times less than raw wood. This is especially important in various structures - the seams do not grow, the joints do not deform, the plane retains geometry.

After heat treatment, the wood practically does not retain the living nutrients necessary for fungal infections and other wood-damaging pathogens, so thermowood does not rot even when used in conditions of high humidity.

Changes in the physical and chemical properties of wood affect the thermal conductivity – in thermowood, the thermal conductivity is 20-25% lower than that of untreated wood of the same species. In practice, this means, for example, that the construction of thermal wood retains heat better. For this reason, thermowood is an ideal material for baths and saunas.

Safe in operation – it is not only natural and environmentally friendly, but also ecologically clean wood. In the process of thermal treatment, resins are also removed, so thermowood is a good choice for interior decoration, as well as for application in baths and saunas. In addition to this, wood also acquires a high-quality brown tint, the tone of which depends on the species of wood and the temperature of heat treatment.
